How to know if a polling company is
legitimate

This election year many people
are getting inundated with phone calls asking for
participation in a survey. How can you tell if the
survey is legitimate or if it is a sales or fundraising call
or a push poll?
If you receive a phone call, legitimate
research firms will disclose the following information:
-
The name of the organization
that is conducting the survey and who sponsored the
research.
-
The purpose of the research
study.
-
How much time the survey will
take you to complete.
-
A statement about the survey
being voluntary.
CMOR adheres to AAPOR's Code of
Ethics for the telephone survey industry.
Please
remember that your opinion matters!
If a legitimate company
calls you for a survey, please take the time to
participate

Latest Akron Buckeye Poll
Released
CMOR recently completed the 3rd
Phase of the Akron Buckeye Poll for the University of
Akron's Bliss Institute. The latest
phase was broken into two separate
entities (1) 600 interviews with Ohio residents
that have not participated in a previous buckeye poll
and (2)interviews with 600 Ohio residents that were
interviewed by CMOR in February and July. This panel
perspective makes this poll unique from other political
polls in that the researchers have been able to track
how Ohio voters' political views have changed throughout
the election process. Just as in the National Religion
and Politics study, CMOR will be contacting the Akron
Buckeye Poll respondents again after the election to get
their views on the election outcome. The full report on
the latest installment of the Buckeye Poll can be
found here. |
