Project
Highlight:
NCI Core
Indicators Project
CMOR is conducting the
National Core Indicators (NCI) study on behalf of the the Ohio
Department of Mental Retardation and Developmental Disabilities. The
Core Indicators are a set of performance measures that emphasize the
outcomes that people with disabilities within the system desire to attain
and the performance of a state to deliver those outcomes.
CMOR
is utilizing a variety of survey sources to assess performance at
the system level.
CMOR
is nearing the end of our data collection. As part of this project
we have interviewed individuals with MRDD from all across Ohio. In
addition, we have sent out more than 3,000 surveys to family members and
guardians of people with MRDD.

CMOR recently completed the 2009 Summit County
Collaborative Poll. As part of this annual poll, CMOR asks a series of
quality of life questions concerning the county. Questions in this
series include the most important problem facing the county; ratings of
the county as a place to live, the quality of available healthcare, the
local economy, and job opportunities; and the importance of funding
certain organizations with local tax monies.
The results of the 2009 Summit County Collaborative Poll
show a very interesting contrast between the concerns over employment
issues compared to the overall quality of life in Summit County.

When
asked to name the most important problem facing Summit County today,
the most common responses centered around employment related issues
such as lack of available jobs and the high unemployment rate. However,
more than three-quarters of respondents rated Summit County as an
excellent or good place to live.
