As part of the recently completed 2009 Collaborative
Polls in Summit, Stark and Medina Counties, CMOR posed a set of quality
of life questions. Each newsletter, we will highlight the results from
one of these quality of life questions.
When asked to rate the county as a place to live,
residents of all three had a positive view of their county. However,
the percentage from Medina that rated the County as excellent/good was
significantly higher than both Stark and Summit Counties - 94% compared
to 76 and 68% respectively. Negative ratings were rare: Medina-1%,
Stark-4%, and Summit-8%.
When looking at the data over the past three years, from
2007 to 2009, the percentage that rated each county positively remained
relatively stable, with the largest increase being in Stark County (72%
to 76%); Medina County increased only by one percentage point (93% to
94%), while Summit County decreased slightly over the same time period
(70% to 67%).
