Our Team

The principal partners of the Center for Marketing & Opinion Research (CMOR) have been providing quality research services to the Northeast Ohio region for a combined total of 20 years. Formerly members of the professional staff of the Center for Policy Studies at The University of Akron, Michelle Henry and Amanda Barna have extensive experience in designing and directing research projects for the public and private sector. Michelle and Amanda put that background to use at CMOR, providing quality research and consulting services to the community.

CMOR employs a Director of Data Services and Quality Assurance Manager for quality assurance, administration, phone room management , and to oversee the operations of the projects in the field. In addition to a staff of Supervisors and Quality Assurance Coaches, CMOR has a full staff of professionally trained interviewers. Furthermore, CMOR works with a network of consultants and consulting agencies to meet the needs of its clients.

S. Michelle Henry, President

Michelle has 12 years of experience in quantitative and qualitative research, directing over 200 projects for diverse groups of state and local governments, social service agencies, media, federal agencies and national foundations, working closely with community leaders. Michelle holds a Master’s Degree in Political Science from The University of Akron. She received her undergraduate degree in Political Science from Western Illinois University.

Amanda Barna, Vice President

Amanda has more than 10 years of experience in quantitative and qualitative research. Amanda has been Project Manager on more than 150 research projects for diverse groups of businesses, state and local government, social service and non-profit agencies, federal agencies, and national and local foundations. Amanda holds a Master’s Degree in Urban Studies from The University of Akron as well as an undergraduate degree in Sociology from The University of Akron.

Anthony Matonis, Director of Data Services

Anthony has more than six years of experience in quantitative research. He oversees all web surveys, questionnaire programming, database creation and management, and sample management. Anthony earned his B.A. from the University of Akron in 2005.


Mike Henry, Director of Development and Special Projects

Mike has twenty years of experience in business development, management, consulting, quality assurance and training. Mike has worked in various fields throughout his career, most recently as a Regional Director for a company that provides services to individuals with disabilities. Mike holds a Bachelor's degree from Kent State and is a certified CPI trainer.


Laura Villwock, Office Manager

Laura joined the company in April, 2008. She has over 15 years of experience in business and office administration. She attended Hondros College and Cuyahoga Community College where she worked to refine her commercial writing skills.


Laura Long, Accounts Manager

Laura joined the company in September 2007. She has over five years experience in business administration. Laura holds an Associate's degree in Accounting.


Dr. AnneMarie Scarisbrick-Hauser, Senior Strategist

Over the past 20 years Dr. Scarisbrick-Hauser has been integrally involved in all aspects of Marketing Research with specific interest in survey research methodology, Business Intelligence, Data Governance, Enterprise Data Management, Data Mining and Analytics. She is a qualified focus group moderator and has completed over 135 research projects for a diverse group of internal and external clients.

AnneMarie has earned a PhD (Sociology) and a MA (Research Methodology) from the University of Akron, a MS (Recreation Management) from Purdue University, a BA (Physical Education) from the University of Limerick, Ireland.


Padi Hallam, Project Consultant

Padi joined the team in 2006. In addition to working on numerous projects for the academic community, she has conducted research into religious life, campaigns and elections, and political behavior. Her work at CMOR has focused on survey and focus group analysis, as well as advanced statistical methods. Padi holds a B.A. ('05) and M.A. ('07) in Political Science from the University of Akron, and is currently pursuing her PhD in American Political Behavior at the University of Pittsburgh.


David Huskins, Mapping/GIS Consultant

David graduated from Ashland College (now University) with a Bachelors in Sociology and Criminal Justice. He then obtained a Masters in Sociology, specializing in Domestic Violence Research and Program Evaluation. David also holds a Masters in Geography. 

Since October 2007 he has been a Geospatial Information Systems Specialist with the Department of Homeland Security at the FEMA Florida Recovery Office. David works at the U.S. Census Bureau as Geographer, Survey Processing Branch, American Community Survey. He has consulted part time with the Center for Marketing & Opinion Research particularly for mapping and Census related projects.

In addition, David volunteers with a number of non-profit organizations, had worked overseas on various aid projects and holds an active Ohio Social Worker License.


Susie Myers, Project Consultant

Dr. Susan Myers has 25 years of experience in Industrial/Organizational Psychology consulting on productivity, job analysis, change management, communications, organizational systems, team building, training, coaching, wellness and human factors. Susan worked as an internal consultant for McDonnell Douglas Corporation where she focused on systems and change management, and many research and development projects. Susan holds a Doctorate in Industrial/Organizational Psychology with a specialty in Human Factors from the University of Missouri-St. Louis. She received her Master's Degree in Clinical Psychology from St. Louis University and her undergraduate degree in Psychology from Lindenwood University.

Susie will be heading up CMOR's new Performance Solutions Division.
